Tags#

Tags are a powerful way to discover how your daily habits, environment, and lifestyle choices impact your sleep quality. By tagging your sleep records, you can track patterns over time and see what helps (or hinders) a good night’s rest.

How Tags Work#

  • Custom & Predefined: Use built-in icons, create your own custom #hashtags, or even use emojis.
  • Automatic Tagging: The app can automatically log weather, moon phases, light levels, location, and sensors for you.
  • Impact Analysis: Compare nights with specific tags against your baseline averages to discover real trends in your sleep health.

How to Add Tags to Your Sleep Records#

You can add tags at any stage of your sleep tracking:

  1. While Tracking: Tap the pencil icon ic_pencil on the sleep screen.
  2. Morning Summary: Add them right after you stop tracking on the rating screen.
  3. Anytime Later: Open any saved sleep record, tap the pencil icon ic_pencil , and add your tags to the comment field.

Any word starting with # (e.g., #headache, #travel) or any emoji added to a record’s comments will automatically act as a tag. Tags are arranged based on how frequently you use them for quick selection.

Smart Location Tags#

The app identifies up to 4 primary locations you frequent over a 1-year window. How location processing works:

  • Privacy First: Locations are stored coarsely (within a ~5 km grid) or can be completely disabled in Settings ➔ Privacy ➔ Don't store sleep location.
  • Moving Home: If you move, your new location gradually transitions from #geo tags to #home as it becomes your dominant sleeping spot.
  • Reset: You can reset your home location anytime in Settings ➔ Privacy ➔ Reset home location.

Managing & Editing Tags#

If you want to rename or clean up a tag across your entire sleep history:

How to Rename a Tag#

  1. Open the Left menu (☰) and select Graphs.
  2. Long-press any sleep graph and select Rename tag.
  3. Enter the old tag name in the first field.
  4. Enter the new tag name in the second field.
  5. Tap OK and confirm.

How to Delete a Tag#

  1. Open the Left menu (☰) and select Graphs.
  2. Long-press any sleep graph and select Rename tag.
  3. Enter the tag name you want to delete in the first field.
  4. Leave the second field blank.
  5. Tap OK and confirm.

Renaming or deleting updates all past sleep records and statistics. Text tags can be edited, but emoji tags cannot be modified at this time.

Analyzing Tag Impact on Your Sleep#

The real magic of tagging happens in your analytics:

  • Charts: Filter your sleep graphs by tag to view specific nights side-by-side.
  • Statistics: Open the Stats screen and expand the Tags section.

Here, you can compare your overall baseline metrics (such as average sleep duration, deep sleep percentage, or snoring count) against nights with a specific tag.

Example: If you notice your Deep Sleep % drops significantly on nights tagged with #caffeine or #latework, you can adjust your evening routine to protect your sleep quality!
