Lullaby issues#

1. Why does the lullaby volume drop soon after starting?#

  • “Turn Off When Sleeping” is active: The app lowers media volume when it senses you’re falling asleep. Go to Settings ➔ Sleep tracking ➔ Lullabies and increase the minimum playback duration.
  • System DND / Sleep Mode: Your phone’s system settings might be muting media audio. Check your Do Not Disturb exceptions.

2. Can I use binaural beats through phone speakers?#

No. Binaural beats work by sending slightly different frequencies to each ear, which requires stereo headphones or earbuds. Phone speakers mix these frequencies in the air, canceling out the neurological effect.

3. Why did my lullaby stop playing suddenly during the night?#

  • Battery Optimization: Aggressive Android background battery management may terminate the app’s background processes overnight.
  • Even when Sleep as Android recovers and resumes sleep tracking, the app intentionally does not restart lullaby audio automatically. This is by design to prevent sudden sound from startling or waking you while sleeping.
  • 👉 Fix: Exclude Sleep as Android from battery optimization in your phone’s system settings. Visit DontKillMyApp.com for step-by-step guides for your specific phone model.
