For many years we have been watching various HRV (Heart rate variability) stats as part of the Sleep score and Charts in Sleep as Android. Specifically we have been looking into HRV gain in the last still period before wake up as compared to HRV when you go to bed as a measure of how well did the body rest.
Recently the plain old HR (Heart rate) is also gaining popularity with respect to sleep. Moreover not all wearables provide HRV to third parties so unfortunately even we would love to show you your HRV gain for some devices we can’t.
Anyway HR may be another interesting sleep quality measure to watch for. Especially as lower HR may lead to better sleep.
In latest BETA version of Sleep as Android you will see HR as one of the sleep score measures either aggregated for a longer period:
Or HR from your last night’s sleep:
To summarize your HR from a single night’s sleep we use a median over the 10 minutes aggregates we capture normally.
When in a range from 35 – 55 you get 100% score with the progress indicator getting slightly under 100% when out of this interval. Over ~69 the indicator will turn red.
To lower your sleeping HR increase the period without a meal before bedtime, try to fight stress and keep a healthy sleep hygiene.
You can watch how you are doing in the long term in a chart.
Please let us know below how you like this new sleep score and what we could improve.
Many thanks for using our app!

Dear. I’m about to purchase the premium version, but I would like to know if it is expected to be compatible with the Xiaomi Smart Band 9. Thank you
Hello, this depends on the heroes at Tools & Mi Band and Notify and fitness, it seems Xiaomi is doing more and more they are able to reverse engineer their protocol and they also integrated with Sleep as Android.. Xiaomi does not make life easy for these heroes though.. did that help?
